Briefd — Weekly Client Updates for Freelancers

1. Information We Collect

We collect information you provide directly to us when you create an account, including your name, email address, and password. We also collect information about the clients you add and the updates you send through the Service. We automatically collect certain technical information including your IP address, browser type, and device fingerprint for security purposes.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to provide, maintain, and improve the Service, send emails on your behalf to your clients, prevent fraud and abuse, communicate with you about your account, and process payments for Pro subscriptions.

3. Information Sharing

We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to third parties. We share your information only with service providers who help us operate the Service, including Supabase (database and authentication), Resend (email delivery), and Dodo Payments (payment processing). These providers are bound by their own privacy policies.

4. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored securely using Supabase, which employs industry-standard security measures including encryption at rest and in transit. We implement Row Level Security to ensure users can only access their own data. Despite these measures, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure.

5. Device Fingerprinting

We use device fingerprinting technology to prevent abuse of our free tier by detecting multiple account creation from the same device. This data is used solely for security purposes and is not shared with third parties or used for advertising.

6. Cookies and Local Storage

We use cookies and browser local storage to maintain your session and remember your preferences such as theme settings and onboarding checklist state. These are essential for the Service to function and cannot be disabled.

7. Your Rights

You have the right to access the personal information we hold about you, correct inaccurate information, delete your account and associated data, and export your update history as a CSV file (Pro plan). To exercise these rights, contact us at support@briefd.app.

8. Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, we will delete your personal data within 30 days. Some anonymized data may be retained for analytics purposes.

9. Children's Privacy

Briefd is not intended for use by anyone under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe we have collected information from a child, please contact us immediately.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes via email. Your continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
